A mid-sized fabrication plant in India planned to upgrade its material handling line for heavier steel components. After technical discussions, the client selected a European-spec single girder solution positioned as a 5 ton overhead crane for flexible indoor use in India.
The project scope covered design, manufacturing, testing, and overseas delivery. The crane was configured with a 5 t lifting capacity, 23 m span, and 9 m lifting height, meeting FEM 2m (A5) duty requirements. For this India project, smooth inverter control was critical, so long and cross traveling speeds were set at 2–20 m/min, while lifting speed was 0.8/5 m/min. This 5 ton overhead crane met all compliance needs.
To suit operators, the 5 ton overhead crane was equipped with both remote control and pendant control. Power configuration included 0.8/4.9 kW lifting power, 0.45 kW cross travel power, and 2×1.1 kW long travel motors. Recommended P22 rails and festoon cable cross power ensured stable operation in India workshops.
Safety was a key decision factor for the India buyer. The 5 ton overhead crane integrated emergency stop, anti-collision system, limit switches, phase protection relays, voltage low protection, ground fault protection, short-circuit protection, over-heating protection, and power-off protection. Insulation grade F and IP54 protection allowed reliable use in India’s -20℃ to +40℃ environments.
After factory acceptance testing, the 5 ton overhead crane was shipped to India and installed on schedule. Commissioning confirmed low noise, precise positioning, and efficient workflow improvement. The client reported faster handling cycles and reduced labor intensity.
